Every product begins with research: what paediatric sleep science, sensory development, and textile engineering tell us a child’s body actually needs at night. Design comes after. It is the translation of evidence into product, not the other way around.
The Minó Method® — from research to product
The Minó Method® is our design framework. It organises the research into four pillars, each one translated into specific, measurable product decisions. Not principles. Decisions.
Every Minó product must satisfy all four. If a material choice serves temperature regulation but creates sensory irritation, it does not pass. If a colour is commercially appealing but neurologically stimulating, it does not pass. The framework is not a checklist. It is a filter.

Sleep science
Fabric weight, fill type, weave structure, and construction are chosen based on published research into paediatric thermoregulation and sleep continuity. Every layer is selected to maintain a stable bed microclimate from lights out to morning.

Sensory wellbeing
Children have more touch receptors relative to body size than adults. Tagless construction, natural fibres, low-noise weave, and seam placement are specified to reduce the tactile and auditory stimulation that competes with sleep onset in a child’s still-developing nervous system.

Colour psychology
Palette is selected based on neurological arousal research, not trend. Minó colours are chosen for low reflectance, desaturation, and their documented effect on heart rate and visual cortex activity in children. Pattern complexity is kept below the threshold that extends cognitive engagement at bedtime.

Emotional balance
Weight, texture, and product design incorporate research on felt security, transitional objects, and the cortisol-melatonin relationship at bedtime. Construction details, like the hidden pocket inside the duvet cover, are direct responses to developmental psychology findings.
Rest Weave™ — why this blend, and not another
Fabric selection is where most bedding brands make their first compromise.
We tested fabrics over two years. On ourselves and on children. Before arriving at Rest Weave™, our bespoke linen-cotton blend. Linen performs best, but on its own it can feel scratchy against a child's skin. Cotton softens it, without giving up any of that performance.

Linen fibre structure
Linen’s hollow fibre construction allows air to circulate freely through the fabric. Studies show linen allows up to 40% more airflow than comparable cotton weaves, actively releasing heat rather than trapping it.

Wicking without saturation
Linen can absorb up to 20% of its weight in moisture before feeling damp. Cotton softens the hand and prevents the stiffness that pure linen can carry in its early life. The blend manages moisture without sacrificing skin comfort.

Low-noise, tagless, natural
The weave is selected for minimal auditory output during movement. A specific consideration for children who are easily roused. No synthetic fibre. No tags. Seams are positioned and finished to minimise skin contact.

Improves with washing
Linen strengthens and softens with repeated washing. Unlike high-thread-count cotton weaves that degrade quickly, Rest Weave™ performs better over time and maintains its thermal properties as it does.
Design that is invisible at 2am
The goal of every decision in this process is not a product that parents notice. It is a product that children do not. Bedding that does not wake them when the room cools. Fabric that does not register against their skin during sleep onset. Colours that do not extend the time their visual cortex stays active after lights out.
Good sleep design is successful when it disappears. When a child falls asleep faster, stays asleep longer, and wakes genuinely rested. Nobody in the room can point to exactly why.
