Designed for rest

The story

This didn't start as a business.
It started with a boy who couldn't sleep.

My son was a restless sleeper. I did what most parents do.

I looked at the routine. The wind-down. I read everything I could find.

And somewhere in all of that reading, I fell deep into the world of sleep science.

The more I learned, the more one thing stayed with me. So much care goes into children’s sleep routines, their bedtimes, even what they wear to bed. But what they actually sleep on? Almost nothing. I started talking to other parents. Every one I spoke to wasn’t sure what their child’s bedding was made from. And yet their children were spending 10 to 12 hours a night in it.

I'd assumed someone had already figured this out. Nobody had. So I built it.

Two years of learning

I spent two years testing fabrics and fibres, documenting what worked and what didn’t. Around the same time I met a 50-year textile veteran who taught me that the makeup of a fabric — its weave, its fibre, its finish — has a direct impact on how well a child sleeps. His knowledge is the reason the products work.

I took my family to Intertextile Shanghai, the world’s largest textile trade show, to understand what was possible. I met manufacturers, studied innovations, and began connecting the research to what could actually be made.

The result

Everything I learned became a design framework called the Minó Method®. Four pillars — sleep science, sensory wellbeing, colour psychology, and emotional balance — each grounded in research, each translated into specific product decisions. Every Minó product must satisfy all four. It is not a checklist. It is a filter.

In practice that means natural fibres only. OEKO-TEX® Standard 100 certified. Tagless construction. Colours chosen for their neurological effect at bedtime, not their shelf appeal. Bedding designed to improve with washing and survive real life. We want it handed down, not thrown out.

We don’t follow trends. We don’t license characters. We design for rest.

My son sleeps well now. Honestly, it had nothing to do with the routine, we'd already got that part right. It was the bed. The fabric against his skin, the tag he couldn't stop touching, the colours that were built to excite him right when he needed to switch off. Once I changed that, he changed.

So if you're a tired parent lying awake wondering what else you can try, I'd gently say: look at the bed before you look at anything else. It might be the one thing you haven't questioned yet.

That's why Minó exists, so no other parent has to figure this out the hard way.
